The Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) held its 34th Capability Training Program from August 21 to 23, 2024, at Hotel del Rio, Iloilo City, focusing on the theme "Corporate Good Governance for LCUs." The event brought together 86 academic leaders and professionals to discuss the principles and practices of good governance in higher education institutions.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Evelyn D. Cruzada, a highly regarded technical consultant for the National Educators Academy of the Philippines and former Assistant Cabinet Secretary in the Office of the President, led the discussions. Key topics included What is Good Governance?, Good Corporate Governance, Navigating Corporate Governance in Higher Education, Leading in Work Teams, and Developing High-Performing Work Teams. Participants also explored practical strategies, such as Ten Simple Strategies for Leveraging Power and Communicating Company Core Values, to enhance leadership and organizational efficiency.
This program highlighted the critical role of governance in fostering accountability, transparency, and excellence in local colleges and universities.
