On July 19, 2024, a significant milestone for academic research in the Philippines was achieved with the establishment of the Local Colleges and Universities Research Network (LRN). This groundbreaking initiative was launched as part of the ALCUCOA National Research Conference, held at the City College of Angeles in Pampanga. The LRN aims to foster a dynamic and collaborative platform that advances multidisciplinary research and academic excellence, primarily among local colleges and universities in the Philippines, while also engaging with institutions of learning and spheres of scholarship both locally and globally.

The LRN is driven by a commitment to create opportunities for collaboration and networking between higher education institutions. Recognizing the challenges that local colleges and universities face in securing resources and visibility for research initiatives, the network's core objectives include facilitating partnerships, securing research funding and support, and promoting the dissemination of research outputs. By working together, member institutions aim to enhance the quality and impact of research in various fields, ensuring that local scholars can contribute meaningfully to global academic discussions and innovations.

In addition to networking and research funding, the LRN places a strong emphasis on professional development for researchers.
