Laguna University submitted its programs for accreditation and was visited last December 11 to 13, 2023 and November 27-29, 2024. The accreditation process provided an opportunity for the university to validate the quality and effectiveness of its programs and improve areas where needed.
The five programs visited in December 2023 and the corresponding accreditors were BS in Computer Science, under Dr. Maricelle M. Nueva, BS in Mechanical Engineering, under Engr. Paul Bryan C. Amagon, BS in Tourism, under Prof. Ma. Christina G. Aquino, Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) Major in Science, under Dr. Leticia V. Catris, and BS in Accounting Information System under Prof. Nonalyn V. Gesalan.
BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Tourism, and BSE in Science were granted Level 1 Status while BS Computer Science was given deferred Level 1 status, and BS Accounting Information System passed the Candidate level. The team was joined by Prof. Angelee S. Domingo, Area Accreditor for Library and Prof. Kristin Joy Mendoza, Supervising Technical Assistant. Dr. Armando Laguimun was the Supervising Accreditor.
In the November visit, Dr. Imelda Soriano, led the team as Supervising Accreditor and accreditor for Bachelor of Elementary Education. With her was Prof. Alni Gavjaymin Casacop as Supervising Technical Assistant and Prof. Venus Oruga as Library Accreditor. Education Programs were evaluated by Dr. Rebecca Tolentino (BSED – Math), Dr. Dolores Borras (BSED – English) while Dr. Ryan Arago accredited BS Information Technology, Dr. Felma Carlos-Tria for BA Communication, Dr. Doringer Cabrera for BS Accountancy, Dr. Melissa Grace-Oreta for BS Entrepreneurship, and Dr. Rejan Tadeo for BS Computer Science (Revisit).
All Education Programs were granted Level 3 status, while other programs were granted Level 2 except for BS Computer Science and BA Communication which were retained at Level 1.
This accreditation process highlights Laguna University’s commitment to providing quality education and enhancing its academic programs to better serve its students and the broader community. The university’s efforts to achieve these accreditations will strengthen its reputation as a quality institution of higher learning in the region.
